2025 VFC Endorsements for the Virginia House of Delegates
The 2025 Virginia General Assembly election promises to carry an incredible amount of impact, and Virginians for Change is excited to announce our initial slate of endorsed candidates. These candidates are committed to protecting our children and communities from gun violence and promoting common-sense gun violence prevention legislation. Additional endorsements will be announced on a rolling basis through the November 4th election, so if you don’t see your district’s nominee listed, please check back or send us a message!
About the endorsement process
We sent out a comprehensive questionnaire to all candidates for the Virginia House of Delegates to ensure that our endorsed candidates are fully aligned with our mission to create a safer environment for our families and children.
We were pleased to receive responses from many candidates and were moved by the many personal accounts from candidates of how gun violence has impacted their lives and their communities personally. We are particularly proud to endorse the following individuals who have shown unwavering support for our cause. Please note that we will continue to update this list in the lead up to the November 4th election.
The candidates we endorsed have shown unwavering support for the common-sense gun legislation that we believe will help create safer communities. As you all may notice, our list of endorsed candidates are all running as Democrats. While we did have several Republican and Independent candidates submit questionnaires, they ultimately did not demonstrate enough alignment with our priorities. We have said before, and it bears repeating: it is our sincere hope that at some point in the future, Republican candidates will demonstrate a commitment to passing gun violence prevention laws and we can release a bipartisan slate of endorsements. Until then, we will continue to support those candidates who are aligned with our core values.
As we approach the 2025 Virginia General Assembly election, we urge you to support these endorsed candidates (with your vote, your donations, and your volunteer hours) and help us create a safer Virginia for all our families. Together, small actions lead to big change.

A Commitment to Bipartisanship
Virginians for Change is a bipartisan organization, representing a diverse group of individuals from all ends of the political spectrum. Our commitment to gun safety transcends party lines, and we firmly believe that common sense gun violence prevention laws should not be a partisan issue. However, in the context of the current political landscape, the issue of gun safety has become increasingly partisan. While our questionnaire was extended to every candidate, we would like to note that only two Republican and two Independent candidates responded. We appreciate the honesty of these candidates in sharing their views, and we were hearted to find that some of these candidates demonstrated a clear commitment to responsible gun ownership and an alignment with the vast majority of our priorities. Ultimately, VFC is charged with endorsing the candidate that most aligns with our organization's values, and Democratic candidates’ positions and track records demonstrated a stronger alignment with our mission on several key issues.
Virginians for Change remains committed to engaging with candidates from all parties and finding common ground on the critical issue of gun safety. We believe that by endorsing candidates who support our mission, we can make meaningful progress in protecting our children and communities from gun violence. We hope that additional Republican and Independent candidates will participate in our endorsement process and speak out in support of Gun Violence Prevention in the future.
