ADVOCATE FOR SAFE STORAGE
One of the most impactful ways to practice GVP is to implement and/or educate others about the safe storage of firearms. When gun owners safely store guns, they prevent accidental injuries and deaths, suicides, and gun theft. In our mission to promote safe storage, VFC has partnered with pediatric and OB/GYN organizations, hospitals, school districts and preschools, county public health agencies, and legislators to educate and advocate about safe storage.
Use the resources below to advocate for safe storage in your daily life – when arranging playdates, creating caregiver info documents, going on vacation, talking to school admin – and to find out about larger safe storage partnership, email research@virginiansforchange.org.
